Roots and Wings

Rode with my passenger pegs down in honor of my brother and all the ancestors who have gone before.

The birthday ride was a peaceful panacea.

Strolling through wonderous gardens really does reconnect us with our roots.

Watching the endless flight of birds left me feeling as if I too had wings.

Hey, Fleeter, Thanks!
Had a grand day yesterday. Best way to spend a b-day IMHO, is on two wheels!

It was all good!

Hi Bobskoot,

Your birthday wish is welcomed whenever it arrives. The actual day was Sunday, Nov. 22nd (J.F. Kennedy's assasination and it falls on Thanksgiving every 10 or 11? years).

I had a nice bike ride and hike through some wonderful gardens.

Thanks for the kind wishes!

Your BFF, Sharon

I never thought of the passenger footpeg thing. Interesting.

Happy birthday. I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. I salute your courage both in dealing with it and facing the perpetrator.

Sometimes the bad spirals ever deeper. In the long run, all we can do is to look back and ask if we did the right things personally.

Your blog brings peace and enjoyment to me and others. Rides can be so therapeutic, can't they?

Peace be the journey.

fondest regards,

Dan

Irondad,

Thanks for the b-day wish! And thanks for your kind words about the blog!

I must confess that the lowered footpeg is not my invention. It's been used many times to symbolically honor those lost, especially other motorcyclists. Cool way to carry others on our shoulders, so to speak.

The more I ride, the more free I feel.
