I recall that about the fire and police--my thinking was to avoid potentially reluctant clerks (I've read that some people, not understanding what it's all about can be hesitant to sign their name). I was thankful for the clerk.

Thanks for the encouraging words on the BB! That you think it is actually "easier" is music to my ears. Regarding I-76--very interesting. Thank you for all your "tips" ....Sharon:

Thank you for all your "tips" . I didn't know what caused the light-headed feeling I had when riding in the Heat during July on my trip to the Okanagan on my prev SV650. temps were in the mid 90's and with all the gear on. I had to stop very 2 hours to get my legs moving again due to the cramped leg position. I think my Wee is better, more relaxed.
I have been doing route planning similar to what you have found to work, ride familiar roads in the dark, and others in daylight.
Taking your advice, I think I will try grapes, juice and granola bars instead of eateries and see how it works out
Can't wait for the Friday story to emerge and wonder what could be so bad as to turn you into a Serial Ki___r

bob
bobskoot: wet coast scootinAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05258612401956399482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32557834.post-27267683075502792772009-09-18T15:55:51.657-05:002009-09-18T15:55:51.657-05:00Remember that for the SaddleSore and BunBurner, th...Remember that for the SaddleSore and BunBurner, the clock starts and ends with the time stamp on the receipts. So there's no real rush to find an end witness - if you're arriving at 1:30 am, even finding someone the next morning would be OK. Also, for the SS1K and BB rides, the witness doesn't have to be a policeman or fireman.

If you can do a SaddleSore like this last one, I think you'll find a Bun Burner to be really easy. It's much easier than an SS1K. At the pace you did the SS1K you would finish the BB in 31.5 hours, which allows enough time for a nap.

BTW, that stretch of I-76 is spooky in the daylight, too. It's where the landscape starts sloping up to the Rockies, it transforms from fertile and Midwestern to dry and Western, and there's hardly any humanity from Julesburg to Sterling at any time of the day or night.David E.B.
